Hi, I'm Don from 1A Auto. I hope this how-to video helps you out, and the next time you need a part for your vehicle, think of 1AAuto.com. Thanks.

In this video, we show you how to replace the vapor canister purge valve on this 2005 Cadillac CTS with the 2.8 liter V6. And the items you'll need for this include a new vapor canister purge valve from 1AAuto.com, a 10mm socket and ratchet, and a flat blade screwdriver.

Start off by removing your oil cap, lift that engine cover up and off, and replace your oil cap. Next, disconnect this harness on the back of your purge valve. And then you want to remove this 10mm bolt at the top of the valve. Now that the bolt is removed, you can lift your purge valve up, and you want to just push this down and to the right, and then that hose will pull right off. And then, for this clip, right here, you want to use a flat blade screwdriver and just pry up that clip. Then twist it and pull the purge valve free.

Old vapor canister purge valve on the right, new one from 1A Auto on the left. You can see they're identical and they're going to mount just the same. Take your new purge valve, push it into place on that hose, and push the clip down. Push your other hose into place and line that up, and replace the 10mm bolt. And we'll just fast-forward as Don tightens that up. Next, reconnect the harness to your purge valve. Then replace your engine cover, remove the oil cap, line up the five mounting studs with the rubber grommets, push it down into place, and then replace the cap.
