Hi. I'm Mike Green. I'm one of the owners from 1A Auto. I want to help you save time and money repairing and maintaining your vehicle. I'm going to use my 20 plus years of experience restoring and repairing cars and trucks like these to show you the correct way to install parts from 1AAuto.com. The right parts installed correctly, that's going to save you time and money. Thank you and enjoy the video.

In this video, we're going to show you how to replace the blower motor resistor in this 2001 Ford Taurus. It should be similar for most '96 to '07 Taurus. All you'll need is an 8 mm wrench or a socket with an extension and ratchet.

Looking at the glove box, then up underneath, there's a big trim panel and you can see the two pins, one there and one there. You just going to want to reach in and pull them down. They're going to come out easy. They'll probably be difficult for you, especially this one over here. If you open your glove box then you take the little ears, and force them in, then the glove box will come down. This here is your blower motor resistor. Best to reach it is to use an extension and the 8 mm socket. First, you're going to reach in here with your thumb and there is a little tab right here. You press on the tab and pull your connector down and out.

Then I'm going to go up from the bottom. We took that bottom trim panel off. With my extension and my ratchet, it makes it easy. I can see it really well. Remove those two bolts and then the resistor comes down and out. What can happen on these resistors is things can get corroded or some of these wires can break. It's actually working fine so let's get that back up in. Put your glove box back up in. It goes back up. Now, we could put our trim plate back up.

We hope this helps you out. Brought to you by www.1AAuto.com, your source for quality replacement parts and the best service on the internet. Please feel free to call us toll-free, 888-844-3393. We're the company that's here for you on the internet and in person.
